I was woken last night by some very strange sounds.

I could not identify them. I though someone might be in the flat. I got up and went to the bathroom, it was 1 am. The door was still locked, so no-one could have gotten in. I decided it must all have been a dream and went back to bed

I awoke this morning to find that there was an earthquake here last night. Wow! Estimates of magnitude very, but are between 4.7 and 5.3. According to the British Geological Survey it is the biggest since 1984.

Here, eight floors up, I must have been woken by the sound the supporting pillars make when they move. They do creak a bit on very windy days.
